The Guild

Practicing residential and commercial interior designers, architects, furniture and object makers, craftspeople, and a small number of cultural and editorial voices working alongside them. Adjacent disciplines — fashion, photography, gallery work, hospitality — are welcomed when they share our standard of care.

Membership is by invitation. Most new members are introduced by an existing member or by the SENTIENT team. If we don't yet know one another, you're welcome to submit a request through the Inquire link — every request is read and considered personally.

Year-round access to the Guild's calendar of private dinners, design conversations, studio visits, and cultural gatherings. Members also receive a small allotment of invitation credits each year to bring guests they'd like the room to know.

Annual dues are kept intentionally modest and are reinvested directly into the year's programming — venues, hosts, food and drink, production. Specific figures are shared with you as part of the invitation, alongside complimentary access pathways for SENTIENT clients and Trade members.

A few gatherings each month, balanced across seasons and neighborhoods. The pace is deliberately quiet so the year feels considered rather than crowded — members can comfortably attend most of what interests them without it crowding their work.

Private homes, studios, galleries, landmark interiors, and the occasional restaurant we've taken over for the night. Locations span Manhattan and Brooklyn, with a handful of further-afield gatherings each year.

Yes — within the invitation credits included with your membership. We ask members to vouch for guests the way they'd vouch for themselves; the room is small enough that one mismatched guest is felt by everyone.

Let us know as early as you can through your account. Most events run a short waitlist, and an early release lets us seat someone who would have otherwise missed the night.
